Umar holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.
He began his career in 1977 as a Schlumberger Field Engineer. He spent 27 years with Schlumberger working in the UK, Iran, Egypt, France, Indonesia, USA and Malaysia in various positions. Some of the key positions were Vice-President Wireline & Testing Far East, Vice-President Network Solutions Middle East & Asia, Global Director IT Strategy, Global Director HR Oilfield Services and President Geco-Prakla.
He sits on the board of PBQ Oilfield Services, Dubai, UAE.
Tayyab holds a MS degree in Petroleum Geology from Karachi University, Pakistan.
He began his career in 1990 as a Geologist with Petro Canada. In 1991 he joined LMKR as a geologist and founding member of the Company. He spent the next 20 years with LMKR working in various technical, sales and management positions eventually becoming Executive Vice President. He has lead people from different cultural backgrounds in successfully implementing large scale petro-technical services projects.
In 2011, he founded Petroleum Technology Solutions. He is an active member of American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), and Pakistan Association of Petroleum Geologists (PAPG). He sits on the board of PBQ Oilfield Services, Dubai, UAE.
Munawar holds a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering and a MS degree in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri-Rolla, USA.
He began his career in 1985 and has worked for a number of major and small E&P operators in Pakistan, Kuwait and the UK. He spent over 20 years with BP, of which the last 6 years were in the UK. Over a 25 year span he has held various engineering, operations, asset management and commercial positions. Some key positions include Senior Manager Reservoir Engineering, Delivery Unit Leader and Commercial Manager. As Resource Manager for BP UK he managed the subsurface aspects of large offshore fields in the North Sea with annual investment budgets of over US$500 million, and the technical and commercial evaluation of projects with potential investment in the US$500 million to US$1 billion range.
After leaving BP in 2010 he joined PetroTecsol as a Director where he has led or participated in several projects for international E&P companies and USAID. He is an active member of the SPE and has published several technical papers as well as serving on the technical paper review committee. He sits on the board of PBQ Oilfield Services, Dubai, UAE.
